I've resigned myself to going without a bird book.

GlennaJo refuses to get it for me. Something about "aiding and abetting." As if a big clumsy creature like her would be any help. She'd just scare away the pre...our feathered friends.

So I've been observing and taking notes all day, using GlennaJo's blue face cream on a new-smelling silk blouse I found in the laundry hamper. After some experimenting, it seems a large glop of cream provides a really clear paw impression.

It's hard to understand, though, what humans see in note taking.

To me, one paw print looks pretty much like another.
