I'm making plans for filling the long winter days with their weak sunshine and few birds.

One of my favorite winter sports is table surfing.

You wait until there are papers spread out on the table, then climb up and select your surf board. The top sheet of a stack of bills works best.

Then you take a running leap onto it, slide the length of the table, and glide to the floor...

landing neatly on all four feet, of course.
